The RoseGallery at Bergamot Station is currently showing the work of actress Jessica Lange. The exhibition consists of a selection of 28 photographs taken by Lange and focuses on the artist’s images taken over the past 16 years during her travels in the U.S., Romania, Mexico, Scandinavia, and many other locations.
The exhibition is being presented in collaboration with the Howard Greenberg Gallery, NY and the Motion Picture & Television Fund.
In 2008, Powerhouse books released her first monograph, “50 Photographs by Jessica Lange” with an introduction by Patti Smith. Still upholding a rich, fulfilling and ongoing acting and stage career the actress has indeed found a way to give her audiences an alternative art form in which to explore her vision. All of the images included in the RoseGallery exhibition are from this book.
Jessica Lange was awarded the George Eastman House Honors. The award is given to an artist whose life work embodies the traditions and values championed by George Eastman House International Museum of Photography & Film. Lange is the first recipient of this newly established award.
The exhibition runs through Octobeer 10, 2009. For more information contact RoseGallery or visit their website
